Ange Leccia
In his video work, Leccia develops contemplative and relational themes by manipulating and opposing video images rather than objects.
He uses all the properties and techniques of the medium to conjure dissolution, diffraction, and loss and return.
The screens, which hover at the edge of abstraction, represent the commemorative and affective nature of Leccia's language.
The images play between the ambiguous line of pleasure and pain: violence and beauty.
Ange Leccia creates installations or dispositions that use different materials, and supports, from objects linked to the image and mediatization (projectors, televisions .....) to conveyances (cars, planes, motorcycles ...), from photographic images to cinematographic ones.
In what he calls "arrangements" he strives to "organize these materials, to bestow on them a certain order," through a great thematic continuity (the sea, clouds, faces, certain rhythms and movements within the film), while establishing different geographic spaces and temporal experiences.
The "arrangement" appears thus, like a "manner of affirming a possibility (...) of a middle ground between the initial idea of the demonstration site.".
